I like this product because it is an easy way to get needed fiber in my diet. However, the tubs I received were set to expire within a month. Typically the expiration date is at least a year out. I did receive a fairly quick response to my complaint. I returned the product at no charge to me and was told I will receive a new shipment as soon as they receive my return.

These are SOOOOO easy to eat; I highly recommend them for people trying to keep the fiber in their diet HIGH, as well as the calcium.

This Citrucel product (made by GlaxoSmithKline) uses a type of cellulose fiber that doesn’t irritate my stomach. Not only does it add a calcium supplement and it is as easy to eat as a piece of candy.

(A bit of background: I added fiber supplements to my diet on the suggestion of my dietitian, who suggested that the additional fiber would both speed the passage of fatty foods and promote better intestinal health.)

My past experiences with fiber supplements include Metamucil (powder and crackers) and Fibercon tablets. The Metamucil worked great and without stomach irritation, but it was terribly inconvenient to prepare and somewhat distasteful to consume. I tried the Fibercon tablets next. The tablets eliminated the inconveniences of mixing powder and washing glasses, but the pills were too strong for my stomach and seemed better suited for extreme cases of digestive irregularity.
